Meet Jo Burke, teacher of the Junior Musicologie class for toddler and pre-k, piano for beginners, ukulele for beginners and voice for any ability. Jo studied Music Education at University of Massachusetts, with a focus in Classical Vocal Studies. Jo has performed at various theaters including Civic Theatre Carmel and Footlite Musicals, and directed at Buck Creek Players and Anderson Mainstage. He believes in teaching music literacy, with an emphasis on physical and mental health for his students. Joseph welcomes students of all ages and abilities, and particularly enjoys working with children and adults who have learning or other disabilities.

Graduated from Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, CA with a strong background in music performance and audio production. I have dedicated over 26 years to my craft gaining experience in studio, tour, and live performance. This includes recording and releasing multiple albums with original bands and performing with various artists in multiple genres. I continue to pursue my passion through teaching, live performance, and audio engineering.

Hi there! My name is Cierra and I'm a professional opera singer. If you're preparing for an audition or have a song you'd like to learn, let's work together to make it happen. I teach jazz, pop, and musical theatre as well. I'm all about self expression and teaching my students to understand musical styles. If they can understand the framework, then their creativity can bloom! I challenge my students to dig deep into the music and offer options that make them stand out in auditions. Fun Facts: I have a Grammy I ran a half-marathon I lived in Manhattan for 5 years I have a BM in Voice Performance from The Ohio State University and an MM Music Degree, Stage Performance Focus from Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University.

Hi! My name is Emma Snyder! I am a music educator from Northern California. I graduated from Wichita State University in Wichita Kansas with a Bachelors in Music Education, and am now based here in Indiana. I have always loved music, and decided that I wanted to teach at the age of 9 years old. I have played the flute since 2012 and very much looking forward to sharing that love with any potential students here at Musicologie!

I have over 20 years of experience as both a performer and educator, specializing in drums and percussion. My journey has taken me across stages of all kinds and into classrooms where I’ve had the privilege of teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Having studied music overseas, I bring an international perspective to my craft, blending technical precision with creative expression. Whether I’m performing live or teaching, my passion is to inspire, mentor, and connect through rhythm.

This is my 4th year teaching a group setting, and my 11th year in private lesson teaching. I am an active educator and performer. I play multiple instruments for these gigs, I have played with multiple brass groups, cover bands including Pork n Beans, Soul Street, Night to Remember. I have played with Darius Rucker in the past as well. I have taught marching, pep, jazz, and concert settings. I believe in making music fun and accessible, I love to learn about my students and cater those experiences into teaching.

Hi! I have been playing violin for 12 years and have been teaching for 5. I am a graduate from Indiana University and am excited to use my skills to teach the next generation of music-lovers. I teach all ages and genres, and believe in positive reinforcement, the power of choice, practice makes progress, and cheat sheets. Outside of teaching violin, I am an artist who specializes in painting, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media.

I have been playing music for 15 years, and I’m looking very forward to sharing a little bit of what I know with you! I am a graduate of The University of Evansville Class of 2020, with a BA in Theatre Performance. I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years this year, and bass for 12. My work can be heard on my self released albums, on which I play most of the instruments you hear (take a listen! https://lukelowrance.bandcamp.com/ ) I’m also currently a member of Ultimate Dog and The Ballyhoo House Band! I’m so excited to continue sharing the joy of music!

Meet Benjamin Collins, a dedicated and laid back music teacher. With a Bachelor of Music (Flute) from DePauw University. Ben brings both expertise and enthusiasm to his teaching. Over the past five years, he has nurtured musical talent in students of all ages: from beginners to college students. Specializing in woodwinds and piano, he creates a welcoming and supportive environment where students can explore their love for music and grow at their own pace. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills; Ben is here to guide you on your musical journey.

Christopher Davies is a seasoned music educator, performer, and scholar with over 20 years of experience in choral, instrumental, and general music. He holds a Bachelors of Music Education from Saint Joseph’s College, graduating with honors. Renowned for his versatile musicianship and theoretical knowledge, Christopher specializes in brass and woodwind instruction, with his primary instrument being the trumpet. He also offers vocal training for all singers with a specialization in baritone/bass ranges. His teaching approach fosters technical proficiency and musical expression, inspiring students of all ages. Christopher's dedication and expertise leave a lasting impact in every educational and performance setting.

Alex has 22 years of experience as a drummer and percussionist. Starting at age 11, Alex began his music journey with professional drum set lessons. He has experience in school band and marching drumline and continues to teach marching percussion. At the age of 14, Alex joined the Indianapolis Symphonic Band, where he learned symphonic percussion. In college, Alex studied music theory and took courses on music’s impact on society throughout history. Alex is an active musician, playing live shows regularly.
