This is a very dynamic musical community. There are so many opportunities for young musicians to participate beyond their lessons. Highly recommend!
We have had an outstanding experience with Musicologie. Our son had never played an instrument or read music before and after a few lessons with Ben he was playing several fun songs. He enjoys his lessons each week and continues to learn not just how to play the trumpet but about music theory and music history.
We've been talking our 1 year old here for the last few months and it's been the best thing ever! Each week are are SO excited to learn the instrument of the week. It's very clear after just a few classes, it had an immediate impact on our daughter and her curiosity with sounds! This is our favorite weekly family activity, and I can't wait to do it for the next 10+ years here at Musicology in Westerville. It's also a great way to meet new moms and dads. Thank you to the staff!
A very welcoming and supportive place. The teachers are encouraging and lovely. A variety of class options are available…so far we tried three different kinds. Highly recommend.
Abigail is an excellent violin teacher, especially for beginners. Her patience and kindness would make learning the violin a positive and encouraging experience for anyone starting out.
The owners and staff are incredibly warm and inviting from the moment you step into the building. I'm thrilled that the kids and even my husband can take lessons under one roof. This place exceeds our expectations with an abundance of offerings. I wholeheartedly recommend taking lessons here. Witnessing the passion for music flow from the teacher to my kids fills my heart with immense joy.
Teachers were very nice and extremely patient, really helped my kids out and made them into amazing musicians!
Great teachers! My son has learned to play the clarinet since he started lessons at Musicologie Anderson. Would recommend to anyone of any age wanting to learn music!
Our kids have been at Musicologie for a year now, and it has been a wonderful experience for our family. Their piano teacher, Kaitlin, is truly outstanding. She has a rare gift for being both highly didactic and genuinely fun, blending solid technique with creativity in a way that keeps the kids engaged and motivated. Our guitar teacher, Gary, is a special musician who knows how to teach through challenge. He pushes just enough to build real skills and confidence, and his approach works beautifully. The kids are proud of what they can do and excited to keep improving. Musicologie has been a warm, inspiring place for our children to grow musically, and teachers like Kaitlin and Gary make all the difference
Place is incredible. Totally blown away. Highly recommend.
My son recently started piano and drum classes, and his teacher Nathan has been excellent in building a strong foundation. He explains the basics clearly and keeps the sessions engaging. We’re very happy with his progress!
My family is very happy with Musicologie Gahanna! The management and teachers are wonderful to work with. Started with musicologie jr, then progressed to piano. Now we take piano with Cindy; she’s been flexible and tailors lessons to make them age appropriate and enjoyable for our child. Couldn’t imagine having started music anywhere else.
Eric was wonderful with my kids! He was so patient, upbeat, and made learning the drums exciting for them. I really appreciate how he kept things engaging while still teaching technique.
My 6yo loved his first lesson- said he wanted to go back immediately to play some more. We’ve done lessons at musicologie with my oldest as well and they are great!
For years, I have wanted to learn to play piano. I read that Musicologie Noblesville offered lessons for children and adults, so I took the plunge and have enjoyed every minute of it. Lessons are tailored to my needs. You’re never too old learn something new! Melissa A

We are driven by a set of unifying principles that guide every lesson, every class, and every interaction.
Research shows the earlier you start, the more lifetime benefits you receive from studying music.
Music is awesome! It teaches so many things: emotional intelligence, discipline, self-awareness, motor skills, dexterity and more.
We focus on the process rather than the product, facilitating discovery rather than dictating information. We teach how to learn, not just what to learn.
We know a student's success is our responsibility. It's our job to make lessons engaging, fun, and easy to be excited about.
All our lessons and classes are experiential and immersive, fun and exciting!
We grow the trust, mutual respect and confidence of our students by assuming good intentions from everyone.
Making mistakes is what learning is. You try something, make mistakes, and try again. We encourage mistakes so our students are excited to take risks and try new things.
Musicologie Westerville
We want you to have total confidence that Musicologie Westerville is the right place for you or your child to start, or continue your musical journey. So we've collected the most frequently asked questions about our music lessons, our programs, and what it's like learning music at Musicologie.
The Musicologie Method™ is rooted in two things: a safe environment, and education through play. Research tells us these two elements are key components of the way everyone learns, from kids through adults.
In music lessons, a safe environment means a place where you feel free to be who you are, encouraged to play the music you enjoy, and excited to try new things. Education through play means having fun playing your instrument! That's why it's called playing music! We use games and strategies to help our music students make serious progress while enjoying the process.
We teach all ages. Many of our students are between the ages of 5 and 12, but we teach toddlers and we teach many adults, too! Our toddler music class is called Musicologie Junior and starts at 6 months. Private lessons start at 5. We also have a rock band class called Rockstars where students ages 7+ learn to be rock stars and play at local venues!
We also have member workshops, open mics, and concerts for all our students, including adults! At Musicologie Westerville, not only can you learn an instrument from an amazing, friendly, certified teacher, but you can meet other musicians and join a community of music explorers!
Get started here by answering a few questions. We'll match you with a teacher and find a time that works for ongoing lessons. The first lesson is called an assessment lesson.
A lesson membership is how you sign up for your weekly lesson or class at Musicologie. Your membership fee is billed monthly. The price depends on which lessons or classes you're enrolled in.
Sure, we offer drop-in lessons for students who can't commit to a weekly lesson.
You will be charged a prorated amount for the remaining days in the month and then you’ll go into our automated system and be billed on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month.
To withdraw from lessons, you must give 30 days advance notice by filling out our online exit form. This is the only way to withdraw. Contact us for the exit form.
We know that you'll stay more engaged by learning music you love and you'll grow faster by using what you've learned in your lessons in performances. We'll take our own Musicologie Method, along with traditional method books like Suzuki, Alfred's, Faber, etc., and combine that with contemporary music you're excited about with the goal of performing in one of our ensembles, group classes, or at one of our concerts.
Not for your first lesson. We have instruments at our studios you can use for the first few lessons. But after that you'll want to get your own instrument for practice at home. Your teacher will help you pick out the right one. We also have open practice hours so you can come in and use instruments and practice rooms at Musicologie during the week.
If you do have your own instrument, you should definitely bring it with you, as long as it's easily portable - leave your piano and drums at home
An assessment lesson is what we call your first lesson. Don't worry, it's not a test! You'll come in, meet your teacher, talk about your goals, go through our policies and develop an individual curriculum. Every student does it regardless of age or ability. For very young students, an assessment is also a chance to see if they're ready for private lessons.
Each of our studios may have different prices, so get started here to learn more!
Of course! Here's how it works:
Log into your account at Musicologie.com
Find the lesson you want to change and select 'cancel' or 'reschedule' at least 24 hours before the lesson. Musicologie Junior and Accelerated Labs can be canceled or rescheduled up to 30 minutes before the class.
The canceled lesson will remain in your account to reschedule at any point in the future.
If you withdraw from lessons, you can no longer reschedule any lessons you cancelled.
If you re-enroll, any previously cancelled lessons will still be available in your account.
When you sign up for lessons, your credit card or debit card will be automatically debited a flat fee each month on the 1st of the month. To withdraw, you need to provide us with 30-days notice by filling out a withdrawal form. Contact your teacher for the form.
Musicologie cannot offer refunds for any missed or unused lessons.
