Our teachers at Musicologie Mt Juliet all have different specialties, histories, and educations. Some have masters or doctorate degrees. Some have toured professionally. Some focus on early childhood education. They love figuring out what inspires each individual student and we pride ourselves on finding the perfect teacher-student match.

You'll see certification badges next to many of our teachers. That means they have passed one of five levels of the Musicologie Teacher Certification Program, which quantifies their experience, leadership, and ongoing professional development.

Julia is a professionally trained classical and contemporary violinist. She is from Philadelphia and started playing the violin at 8 years old. Her passion for the instrument led her to a path of songwriting and sound design. And by the time she was enrolled at Berklee College of music, Julia was writing, producing, and releasing her own original music, as well as playing her electric fiddle around town. Now in Austin TX, Julia is in love with music as she always has been and also teaches Music Production, Voice, Ukulele, Mandolin, Piano, beginner Guitar, and band classes. Her students will have the opportunity to play in any genre they choose, such as classical, jazz, folk, country, and pop/rock.

Tim Grieme is a Nashville-based saxophonist, performing and teaching across jazz, classical, popular and contemporary styles. Whether performing for audiences or guiding learners, Tim draws from his diverse background to create intentional musical experiences. Tim serves as Adjunct Professor of Saxophone at Alabama A&M University and leads a private virtual studio of elementary through high school students. He also teaches at Hume-Fogg Magnet High School and works with students throughout the Nashville metro public school system. Across all settings, his teaching emphasizes strong fundamentals, stylistic awareness, artistic independence, and confidence in students of all ages.

Troy Wallace began his musical journey at an early age, growing up with a South American mother from a classical music family and a Tennessee father from a bluegrass background. He started piano as an infant and guitar at age 4. Over the years, Troy has toured, performed and recorded with artists across multiple genres, while also owning and operating a successful recording studio in downtown Raleigh, NC. He now works in music licensing for TV and film and regularly performs with Idlewild South, an Allman Brothers tribute, on B3 and vocals. Troy teaches guitar to students of all ages and skill levels, creating personalized lessons focused on active participation, technique, and musical growth.

Derrick, a Kentucky native and Berea College graduate, is the frontman of Nashville rock band Multi Ultra. With over a decade of experience as a vocalist and guitarist, he brings substantial performance expertise to his teaching. Derrick excels in working with beginners and young musicians, fostering a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. His lessons cover performance, songwriting, ear training, chord theory, and improvisation, tailored to each student's interests and abilities. Derrick aims to ignite students' passion for music, build their confidence, develop practical skills, and ensure they have fun throughout their musical journey.

Miranda discovered her passion for music early, beginning with singing at age 3, classical piano at 4, and guitar at 6. Her childhood was rich with musical theatre, and by 12, she joined her first rock band. She spent a decade writing music, recording with major labels, and performing globally. Returning home, Miranda taught piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice. She co-owned a children's theatre in Los Angeles and continues to music direct for children's theatre. Passionate about exploring various music genres, Miranda encourages her students to do the same. Her primary aim is to provide a safe space for students to express themselves and develop a personal love for music.

Rev Davis, a seasoned drummer since 1996, hails from Middle Tennessee and has a rich background in live performance and sound engineering. He began his musical journey in church settings and makeshift studios, eventually progressing to renowned studios in Nashville and New York. Rev studied Recording Arts at Full Sail University and gained experience at prestigious studios like Masterfonics and Chung King Studios. His diverse expertise spans genres such as rock, jazz, and orchestral music. As a teacher, Rev emphasizes personalized learning, focusing on students' interests to build strong musical fundamentals, encouraging them to become musicians, not just drum players.

Dragomanov Pedagogical University. With over 30 years of international teaching experience, she is a dual-qualified tutor in Piano, Music History, and Sol-Fa. Valentyna employs a holistic approach to music education, integrating modern techniques such as the Carl Orff method and "Soft Way to Music," alongside ear training, art history, and music theory. Certified by the Carl Orff Institute and a published author, she aims to inspire a lifelong love for music in students through personalized instruction.
