Perform in front of an audience!
Performing in front of an audience is what music is all about! It's the best way to get motivated to learn a new song and hone your skills. We encourage performance at our many concerts in Grandview, Ohio right from the beginning. You're never too young or inexperienced to perform. We have concerts for early learners just getting through the first pages of their first book, for adults getting up in front of an audience for the first time and for our RockStars students playing with others in a band.

Lesson was great, instructor made the most of the time, was really considerate of my goals, and helped with them! Signed up, and ready to go
My 6yo loved his first lesson- said he wanted to go back immediately to play some more. We’ve done lessons at musicologie with my oldest as well and they are great!
We are absolutely loving the music class for younger kids (up to 5). It's fun and interactive, and they also teach music concepts. I appreciate I can be in the room with my daughter while she's learning too. We're really excited to continue lessons!
I honestly didn't think these lessons would make much of a difference when my boys (14 and 16) started this summer with once a week 30 minute lessons in ukulele and electric guitar, but I am *floored* by the progress they've made! My 14 year old just played for me yesterday and he's doing some kind of wild Spanish guitar thing that sounds like he's straight out of a professional concert or something! They've also been extremely flexible, friendly and easy to work with. Plus the location is cute. I'm definitely going to be returning to Musicologie in Grandview in the future for my younger daughter too!
My daughter has been attending Musicologie for several years now. She’s had a few wonderful coaches for voice, piano, guitar and prep for musical acting. What great experiences she’s had during her time attending lessons. They have so many talented artists and make performing a blast!
Owner and family are wonderful people - I would highly recommend this business for music lessons!
Andrew was very knowledgeable, patient and gave me the confidence I needed to continue my musical journey.
Instructor was very knowledgeable and informative. Took time to explain everything.. being a senior person, the instructor helped with connecting for online classes. Thank you very much
My son loved his first ever guitar lesson!
I highly recommend this place to teach kids how to play instruments because they have a fun way to learn and make this enjoyable.
Wes was great, he jumped right in, gave me some exercises (while providing guidance and instant feedback). I left with exercises and a plan with how we were going to proceed. I gave him my end state on what I wanted to accomplish and he has already provided me with the objectives I will need to accomplish it. I am totally stoked for my next lesson. I absolutely recommend musiclogic and Wes if you are looking to improve both your guitar and singing ability. I will keep you posted on my progress! See you next week Wes!
Jimmy tailored my assessment session with him to my specific needs and requests. I had tried other places where I felt like I was just getting a cookie cutter approach to learning, and felt like I was being taught like a child. As an adult learner, I appreciate the ability to craft each lesson to help me reach my specific goals.
Kari had music photocopied for my assessment. We discussed the types of music I find appealing, and she'll explore good books for me to buy. She paced the session well.
We take the our 2 year old to the Musicologie Jr. class with Ms. Naomi and it’s our favorite part of the week. It is well structured and so fun. Ms. Naomi does a wonderful job of engaging everyone and making sure the children are having fun while building foundational music skill at age appropriate levels. Our 2 year old gets excited the second we pull in the parking lot and leaves singing the songs from class. We also love the flexibility of rescheduling as she is medically complex so we often miss classes but still feel we get our money’s worth with that flexibility and our daughter doesn’t miss out on an activity she loves. That flexibility is somewhat rare in children’s activities. All of that combined make us very happy customers and we look forward to staying that way!
I am very happy that I found this place! They were very accommodating to me and everyone was courteous and friendly. Ali was super helpful to me to understand what I can learn from Musicologie and answered my questions about available lessons. Thank you!
Our son has attended camp at Musicologie twice and had very different yet wonderful experiences both times! The first year he attended, he went with no prior experience and truly enjoyed exploring a range of instruments and learning all about rhythm and making music. The second year, he went to camp with a year of piano lessons under his belt and was able to further develop his skills and love of music! Whether your child is brand new to the world of music or a seasoned musician, this camp is a great opportunity to have fun in a positive and loving environment!
Absolutely love our experience at Musicologie. We have been taking classes here for more than a year now, and we have seen our daughter's skills improve significantly. The instructors are very positive and they make it easy to reschedule classes.
Eric was wonderful with my kids! He was so patient, upbeat, and made learning the drums exciting for them. I really appreciate how he kept things engaging while still teaching technique.

We are driven by a set of unifying principles that guide every lesson, every class, and every interaction.
Research shows the earlier you start, the more lifetime benefits you receive from studying music.
Music is awesome! It teaches so many things: emotional intelligence, discipline, self-awareness, motor skills, dexterity and more.
We focus on the process rather than the product, facilitating discovery rather than dictating information. We teach how to learn, not just what to learn.
We know a student's success is our responsibility. It's our job to make lessons engaging, fun, and easy to be excited about.
All our lessons and classes are experiential and immersive, fun and exciting!
We grow the trust, mutual respect and confidence of our students by assuming good intentions from everyone.
Making mistakes is what learning is. You try something, make mistakes, and try again. We encourage mistakes so our students are excited to take risks and try new things.
Musicologie Grandview
We want you to have total confidence that Musicologie Grandview is the right place for you or your child to start, or continue your musical journey. So we've collected the most frequently asked questions about our music lessons, our programs, and what it's like learning music at Musicologie.
The Musicologie Method™ is rooted in two things: a safe environment, and education through play. Research tells us these two elements are key components of the way everyone learns, from kids through adults.
In music lessons, a safe environment means a place where you feel free to be who you are, encouraged to play the music you enjoy, and excited to try new things. Education through play means having fun playing your instrument! That's why it's called playing music! We use games and strategies to help our music students make serious progress while enjoying the process.
We teach all ages. Many of our students are between the ages of 5 and 12, but we teach toddlers and we teach many adults, too! Our toddler music class is called Musicologie Junior and starts at 6 months. Private lessons start at 5. We also have a rock band class called Rockstars where students ages 7+ learn to be rock stars and play at local venues!
We also have member workshops, open mics, and concerts for all our students, including adults! At Musicologie Grandview, not only can you learn an instrument from an amazing, friendly, certified teacher, but you can meet other musicians and join a community of music explorers!
Get started here by answering a few questions. We'll match you with a teacher and find a time that works for ongoing lessons. The first lesson is called an assessment lesson.
A lesson membership is how you sign up for your weekly lesson or class at Musicologie. Your membership fee is billed monthly. The price depends on which lessons or classes you're enrolled in.
Sure, we offer drop-in lessons for students who can't commit to a weekly lesson.
You will be charged a prorated amount for the remaining days in the month and then you’ll go into our automated system and be billed on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month.
To withdraw from lessons, you must give 30 days advance notice by filling out our online exit form. This is the only way to withdraw. Contact us for the exit form.
We know that you'll stay more engaged by learning music you love and you'll grow faster by using what you've learned in your lessons in performances. We'll take our own Musicologie Method, along with traditional method books like Suzuki, Alfred's, Faber, etc., and combine that with contemporary music you're excited about with the goal of performing in one of our ensembles, group classes, or at one of our concerts.
Not for your first lesson. We have instruments at our studios you can use for the first few lessons. But after that you'll want to get your own instrument for practice at home. Your teacher will help you pick out the right one. We also have open practice hours so you can come in and use instruments and practice rooms at Musicologie during the week.
If you do have your own instrument, you should definitely bring it with you, as long as it's easily portable - leave your piano and drums at home
An assessment lesson is what we call your first lesson. Don't worry, it's not a test! You'll come in, meet your teacher, talk about your goals, go through our policies and develop an individual curriculum. Every student does it regardless of age or ability. For very young students, an assessment is also a chance to see if they're ready for private lessons.
Each of our studios may have different prices, so get started here to learn more!
Of course! Here's how it works:
Log into your account at Musicologie.com

Musicologie cannot offer refunds for any missed or unused lessons.
