We have been bringing our 4 year old son (Who is starting to learn english) for piano lessons with his teacher Jo. I cannot say enough good things about Jo the school, our son has just flourished since starting his lessons here, not only on his ability to play piano hut also socially. His teacher is patient and kind with him and always makes him feel extremely proud of himself. We definitely appreciate this place so much and will recommend it to anyone looking for teachers who not only view your children as students but also as human beings and friends!
Our kiddos love going and practicing at the Carmel location. The teachers meet them at their comfort level and then give goals for the next meeting. You know it’s a good fit when they willingly practice at home during the week! Our oldest is looking for violin songs to surprise Anna with and our youngest is supported by Alex as he finds his beat on the drums!

As a 55‑year‑old woman returning to the piano after more than three decades away, I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher than Jared. Our family loves coming here! Our son has been coming since he had just turned 3 and has really enjoyed seeing Jo every week. He says Mondays are Jo days and considers Jo his favorite singer🥹. We love how Jo meets kids where they are and pushes them in a kind and encouraging way. In the past year, we have seen kids with varying personality types join our classes and Jo’s patience and ability to make each kid shine is impressive. The age range of our class (Juniors) means it is a bit of organized chaos and a lot of fun.

The music teachers are talented, patient, and make sure you're learning and having fun. It's been over 20 years since I originally learned to play guitar and they're helping me get back into the swing of things. Ryman Auditorium here we come! A few things before your first lesson in Chesterfield
Get started here. A Community Manager will reach out to you and match you with a certified expert teacher based on your goals. You’ll do an initial 30 minute assessment lesson with your teacher to talk about what you want to achieve and make sure it’s a good fit. Then, you’ll sign up for weekly lessons and start practicing!
At your first lessons you can use one of our instruments at the studio. Ask your Community Manager for details. For ongoing practice at home, you will need an instrument. If you don’t have one, we'll help get you what you need!
Not as long as you might think! Our programs will get you singing or playing right away. Our students make music a part of their lifestyle. They stay consistent and don’t sweat it if they miss a lesson or are too busy to practice one week. They get back on and keep going. Learning an instrument is a journey. You’ll learn a lot about yourself, and your goals will change as you progress. The important part is to take the first step, and see what’s possible.
Our certification program is a 5 level program that measures a teacher's education, teaching hours, student retention, commitment to personal development, and community leadership. Teachers are encouraged to mentor each other, learn new skills and curriculum, and attend classes on everything from pedagogy to diversity and inclusion. It's the only program of its kind and truly sets Musicologie teachers apart.
Yes! The first lesson is called an assessment lesson. There’s no obligation to sign up for weekly lessons. The assessment lesson is designed for your teacher to get to know you and your goals and recommend curriculum to achieve those goals. It’s also a chance to make sure it’s a good fit. If for any reason you’re not satisfied, we’ll match you with additional teachers for free or refund the assessment fee.
Your lessons will be guided by your goals. You'll learn exactly what you need and nothing you don't. For example, if your goal is to sing Tom Petty songs around a campfire, your teacher will skip note reading and theory and go straight for the three chords you need to play any Petty tune. If you want your child to learn how to be a well rounded musical human with all the accompanying developmental benefits, your teacher will use a curriculum like Faber or Alfred's and take them through theory, technique and note reading, as well as playing fun songs they'll enjoy. If you're not sure what your goals are yet, or even what instrument to choose - no problem! We'll match you with a teacher of multiple instruments who can take you through different concepts and possibilities, always focusing on music you like.
