The Best Way to Learn Fast - All Ages and Abilities
Let us introduce you to our group music lessons! They're called Accelerated Labs and are an innovative approach to music education that teaches independent practice skills and accelerates achievement. Lab students move faster through their music, are better at practicing, and are more self-sufficient learners. For most beginning to intermediate students, it’s the best way to learn. Watch Kay explain it in our 90 second video below!

Three to five students work separately at their pianos with headphones, alternating between interacting with the teacher and independent learning. The lab is compatible with any curriculum, preferred method or repertoire. Each student’s progress is completely separate and independent from everyone else. In addition to their regular curriculum books, Lab students work from Musicologie's proprietary Lab curriculum which fills learning gaps and makes drilling scales and technique fun!
Our group music lessons, specifically Accelerated Piano Lab, have been shown to dramatically improve a student’s sight reading skills. This is the biggest skill that students need in order to learn music quickly.
Students move through their books faster.
Students learn more music each week.
Includes proven practice techniques so home practice is all about review and increasing speed.
Less tedium = more fun at home.
Minimizes the parent's need to supervise practice at home.
Fewer battles about practicing and just more fun!

We have more than 7000 students and hundreds of 5-star reviews! Musicologie students love learning music, enjoy the community and make serious progress.
We have LOVED having my daughter at musicologie! Katherine has been amazing and had prepared my daughter for her auditions not only with singing but with nerves and confidence. Musicologie has been amazing for my daughter and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for any sort of music lessons.
We are loving our experience in the accelerated lab with Haley! My daughter is practicing the piano on her own without any fighting for the first time 😄.
Katherine has been awesome. Our little girl has been loving her vocal lessons and looks forward to them every Monday. It's awesome to see how excited she is for this new experience. The studio is very clean and up to date. They also teach a lot of different types of instruments which is pretty cool & may have to look into that for myself at some point.
We are loving our experience at Musicologie! It’s such a welcoming environment, and I love how organized, efficient and flexible their system is. I would highly recommend their voice teacher, Katherine Underwood.
Incredible lineup of teachers for virtually any instrument you'd like to learn. Good people, good music, good times 👍
He had a great first experience. The instructor was very positive!
We had an amazing first vocal lesson. Dustin made my daughter feel comfortable and we are looking forward to our future lessons!
We are happy with the creative ways in which our child is being encouraged to engage with music. She looks forward to her weekly violin classes. Thank you Mr Javi! He is great with teaching children!
We have had such a wonderful experience with Musicologie! My daughter has been taking bass guitar lessons here for about a year, and she also joined the rock band program about five months ago. She has already had three really fun performances, and it has been so sweet to watch her confidence grow. Today she did an evaluation for voice lessons with Lexi and absolutely loved it. She told me she loves the way it feels to sing, which honestly made my heart so happy. I love that Musicologie has helped her find something she truly enjoys and can lose herself in. The teachers and programs have been encouraging, fun, and such a positive outlet for her. We are so thankful for the experience and would definitely recommend Musicologie to other families!
We had such an incredible experience at my daughter‘s first piano lesson. We were warmly greeted by the owner upon arrival and walked through how everything works. Her teacher, Miss Naomi, was so patient and very informative. I was nervous about taking a five year-old (typical age related attention span & listening skills concerns), but they were so patient and well-versed in how to meet her where she was at. They took a very personalized approach to observing her and what would work to pique her interest. We are excited to get signed up for lessons!
Musicologie Prosper is really a great music school for any kid who would like to start their music journey. Mr. Javier is my son's violin teacher. He is very patient and encouraging. My son loves to attend class. School recently arranged spring concert, I must say it was very systematic and kids performed very well. Thank you and keep growing.
We take the our 2 year old to the Musicologie Jr. class with Ms. Naomi and it’s our favorite part of the week. It is well structured and so fun. Ms. Naomi does a wonderful job of engaging everyone and making sure the children are having fun while building foundational music skill at age appropriate levels. Our 2 year old gets excited the second we pull in the parking lot and leaves singing the songs from class. We also love the flexibility of rescheduling as she is medically complex so we often miss classes but still feel we get our money’s worth with that flexibility and our daughter doesn’t miss out on an activity she loves. That flexibility is somewhat rare in children’s activities. All of that combined make us very happy customers and we look forward to staying that way!

We are driven by a set of unifying principles that guide every lesson, every class, and every interaction.
Research shows the earlier you start, the more lifetime benefits you receive from studying music.
Music is awesome! It teaches so many things: emotional intelligence, discipline, self-awareness, motor skills, dexterity and more.
We focus on the process rather than the product, facilitating discovery rather than dictating information. We teach how to learn, not just what to learn.
We know a student's success is our responsibility. It's our job to make lessons engaging, fun, and easy to be excited about.
All our lessons and classes are experiential and immersive, fun and exciting!
We grow the trust, mutual respect and confidence of our students by assuming good intentions from everyone.
Making mistakes is what learning is. You try something, make mistakes, and try again. We encourage mistakes so our students are excited to take risks and try new things.
Musicologie Lindon
We want you to have total confidence that Musicologie Lindon is the right place for you or your child to start, or continue your musical journey. So we've collected the most frequently asked questions about our music lessons, our programs, and what it's like learning music at Musicologie.
The Musicologie Method is at the core of every lesson and class we teach. It’s rooted in two things: a safe environment, and student-centered learning. Research tells us these two elements are key components of the way everyone learns, from kids through adults.
In music lessons, a Safe Environment means a place where you feel free to be who you are, encouraged to play the music you enjoy, and excited to try new things.
Student-Centered Learning means harnessing trust, collaboration, and exploration to give students the agency and the inspiration to achieve their goals and to make the learning process engaging and fun.
We teach all ages. Many of our students are between the ages of 5 and 12, but we teach toddlers and we teach many adults, too! Our toddler music class is called Musicologie Junior and starts at 6 months. Private lessons start at 5. We also have a rock band class called Rockstars where students ages 7+ learn to be rock stars and play at local venues!
We also have member workshops, open mics, and concerts for all our students, including adults! At Musicologie Lindon, not only can you learn an instrument from an amazing, friendly, certified teacher, but you can meet other musicians and join a community of music explorers!
Get started here by answering a few questions. We'll match you with a teacher and find a time that works for ongoing lessons. The first lesson is called an assessment lesson.
A lesson membership is how you sign up for your weekly lesson or class at Musicologie. Your membership fee is billed monthly. The price depends on which lessons or classes you're enrolled in.
Sure, we offer drop-in lessons for students who can't commit to a weekly lesson.
You will be charged a prorated amount for the remaining days in the month and then you’ll go into our automated system and be billed on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month.
To withdraw from lessons, you must give 30 days advance notice by filling out our online exit form. This is the only way to withdraw. Contact us for the exit form.
We know that you'll stay more engaged by learning music you love and you'll grow faster by using what you've learned in your lessons in performances. We'll take our own Musicologie Method, along with traditional method books like Suzuki, Alfred's, Faber, etc., and combine that with contemporary music you're excited about with the goal of performing in one of our ensembles, group classes, or at one of our concerts.
Not for your first lesson. We have instruments at our studios you can use for the first few lessons. But after that you'll want to get your own instrument for practice at home. Your teacher will help you pick out the right one. We also have open practice hours so you can come in and use instruments and practice rooms at Musicologie during the week.
If you do have your own instrument, you should definitely bring it with you, as long as it's easily portable - leave your piano and drums at home
An assessment lesson is what we call your first lesson. Don't worry, it's not a test! You'll come in, meet your teacher, talk about your goals, go through our policies and develop an individual curriculum. Every student does it regardless of age or ability. For very young students, an assessment is also a chance to see if they're ready for private lessons.
Each of our studios may have different prices, so get started here to learn more!
Of course! Here's how it works:
Log into your account at Musicologie.com
Find the lesson you want to change and select 'cancel' or 'reschedule' at least 24 hours before the lesson. Musicologie Junior and Accelerated Labs can be canceled or rescheduled up to 30 minutes before the class.

If you withdraw from lessons, you can no longer reschedule any lessons you cancelled.
If you re-enroll, any previously cancelled lessons will still be available in your account.
When you sign up for lessons, your credit card or debit card will be automatically debited a flat fee each month on the 1st of the month. To withdraw, you need to provide us with 30-days notice by filling out a withdrawal form. Contact your teacher for the form.
Musicologie cannot offer refunds for any missed or unused lessons.
