I came in wanting to play the violin, and what I didn't expect was a teacher who would help me become an actual musician. Anna doesn't just teach you the notes... she teaches you how to listen, how to phrase, how to bring feeling and intention to what you're playing. Her lessons are patient, encouraging, and tailored to where I actually am, and she has a way of pushing me just past my comfort zone so I keep growing every single week. If you're looking for someone who will take your playing seriously and make the whole process genuinely joyful, Anna at Musicologie is the teacher for you. 🎻 ![Profile Picture](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a/ACg8ocLGMENC983wiDzYwehtj4U-KOLDQZEqDzQvlBzHSIwUx0P1ZRoJ=s40-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo-ba3) [Stephanie Ross (Steph R)](https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/111769211266592254932/reviews) 4 months ago (Noblesville, IN) We have been bringing our 4 year old son (Who is starting to learn english) for piano lessons with his teacher Jo. She challenges Dixie to keep improving while also helping her truly understand the music and the instrument—not just play the notes. Rebecca has a wonderful balance of encouragement and thoughtful correction. She praises Dixie’s progress while gently guiding her through areas that need work, always with so much care and kindness. It’s clear she genuinely cares about her students and their growth. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her, and I’m so grateful they’ve become such a strong, inspiring duo. Rebecca is making a lasting impact on Dixie’s violin journey, and we couldn’t recommend her more. 🎻 ![Profile Picture](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a/ACg8ocLvkz_J8-fJ4NhanPCVNqXG82t2tZ74JWJ6BBwZKhYTq9OngMj8=s40-c0x00000000-cc-rp-mo) [Stephanie A](https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/104397069864941936012/reviews) 5 months ago (Noblesville, IN) Our experience at Musicologie has been excellent so far! We love how Jo meets kids where they are and pushes them in a kind and encouraging way. It's an awesome place for music lessons in Nashville - kids, adults, baby classes - they've got it all! The music teachers are talented, patient, and make sure you're learning and having fun. Whether you’re looking for piano lessons, guitar lessons, voice lessons, or beginner music classes, they make learning fun and approachable. It's been over 20 years since I originally learned to play guitar and they're helping me get back into the swing of things. Ryman Auditorium here we come! The location is super convenient in Green Hills, and the space is welcoming, organized, and professional. If you’re looking for high-quality music lessons in Nashville, I highly recommend Musicologie. ## Good to know A few things before your first lesson in Chesterfield ### **How do I start?** [Get started here.](https://app.musicologie.com/get-started?location=chesterfield) A Community Manager will reach out to you and match you with a certified expert teacher based on your goals. You’ll do an initial 30 minute assessment lesson with your teacher to talk about what you want to achieve and make sure it’s a good fit. Then, you’ll sign up for weekly lessons and start practicing! ### **Do I need an instrument?** At your first lessons you can use one of our instruments at the studio. Ask your Community Manager for details. For ongoing practice at home, you will need an instrument. If you don’t have one, we'll help get you what you need! ### **How long does it take to learn?** Not as long as you might think! Our programs will get you singing or playing right away. Our students make music a part of their lifestyle. They stay consistent and don’t sweat it if they miss a lesson or are too busy to practice one week. They get back on and keep going. Learning an instrument is a journey. You’ll learn a lot about yourself, and your goals will change as you progress. The important part is to take the first step, and see what’s possible. ### **How are Musicologie teachers certified?** Our certification program is a 5 level program that measures a teacher's education, teaching hours, student retention, commitment to personal development, and community leadership. Teachers are encouraged to mentor each other, learn new skills and curriculum, and attend classes on everything from pedagogy to diversity and inclusion. It's the only program of its kind and truly sets Musicologie teachers apart. ### **Can I try just one lesson?** Yes! The first lesson is called an assessment lesson. There’s no obligation to sign up for weekly lessons. The assessment lesson is designed for your teacher to get to know you and your goals and recommend curriculum to achieve those goals. It’s also a chance to make sure it’s a good fit. If for any reason you’re not satisfied, we’ll match you with additional teachers for free or refund the assessment fee. ### **What will I learn?** Your lessons will be guided by your goals. You'll learn exactly what you need and nothing you don't. For example, if your goal is to sing Tom Petty songs around a campfire, your teacher will skip note reading and theory and go straight for the three chords you need to play any Petty tune. If you want your child to learn how to be a well rounded musical human with all the accompanying developmental benefits, your teacher will use a curriculum like Faber or Alfred's and take them through theory, technique and note reading, as well as playing fun songs they'll enjoy. If you're not sure what your goals are yet, or even what instrument to choose - no problem! We'll match you with a teacher of multiple instruments who can take you through different concepts and possibilities, always focusing on music you like. ### **How much does Musicologie cost?** Lessons and programs range in cost and vary by location. [Contact us to learn more!](https://app.musicologie.com/get-started?location=chesterfield) ### **What's the Perfect Match Promise?** Our Perfect Match Promise is our guarantee to you that you'll love your Musicologie teacher, or we'll match you with a new one for free, or refund your first month of lessons. It means there's no risk to sign up for your first lesson. ![Accelerated Piano Lab student playing piano while their teacher smiles]() ## Why Choose Lessons at Musicologie? - Certified Music Teachers - Perfect Match Promise™ - All ages, abilities, and instruments - Private lessons and group classes - Concerts and events - Easy and flexible rescheduling ```json {"@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@id":"https://musicologie.com/#website","@type":"WebSite","description":"Simply Delightful music lessons & classes for all ages.
