As someone who does not speak a single word of English, I was initially very anxious about enrolling my daughter in piano lessons. However, from the very first day, the team and teachers went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome, safe, and understood. They treated my daughter with such warmth, patience, and incredible care. Seeing how happy she is and how well she is being looked after means the world to me as a mother. First, let’s start with the flexibility of being able to cancel and schedule your classes whenever you need. That has made my life easier as we can’t always commit to our scheduled Friday classes. Secondly, the teachers are so kind and patient! I believe we’ve had the pleasure of meeting all of the Junior teachers due to our scheduling needs but my kiddo loved all of them! He’s already a rockstar so being in the environment just allowed him to shine even more. Lastly, the staff has been amazing to work with. Kelsey and Chris are always available to answer my questions, and honestly just to chat about anything. It’s such a warm environment. I’m 9 months pregnant and they made sure to always check in on me and bring me a chair to ensure I’m not getting up and down in class, allowing me to still participate with my son. We are taking a little break just so I can have my next child but I absolutely would recommend Musicologie Alpharetta to anyone with ears okay! We will be back once my nugget is older for more individual lessons since My kiddo has decided that electric guitar is his preferred instrument. See you soon guys! Daughter has her first lesson next week and wee cant wait!!!! ## Good to know A few things before your first lesson in Chattanooga ### **How do I start?** [Get started here.](https://app.musicologie.com/get-started?location=chattanooga) A Community Manager will reach out to you and match you with a certified expert teacher based on your goals. You’ll do an initial 30 minute assessment lesson with your teacher to talk about what you want to achieve and make sure it’s a good fit. Then, you’ll sign up for weekly lessons and start practicing! ### **Do I need an instrument?** At your first lessons you can use one of our instruments at the studio. Ask your Community Manager for details. For ongoing practice at home, you will need an instrument. If you don’t have one, we'll help get you what you need! ### **How long does it take to learn?** Not as long as you might think! Our programs will get you singing or playing right away. Our students make music a part of their lifestyle. They stay consistent and don’t sweat it if they miss a lesson or are too busy to practice one week. They get back on and keep going. Learning an instrument is a journey. You’ll learn a lot about yourself, and your goals will change as you progress. The important part is to take the first step, and see what’s possible. ### **How are Musicologie teachers certified?** Our certification program is a 5 level program that measures a teacher's education, teaching hours, student retention, commitment to personal development, and community leadership. Teachers are encouraged to mentor each other, learn new skills and curriculum, and attend classes on everything from pedagogy to diversity and inclusion. It's the only program of its kind and truly sets Musicologie teachers apart. ### **Can I try just one lesson?** Yes! The first lesson is called an assessment lesson. There’s no obligation to sign up for weekly lessons. The assessment lesson is designed for your teacher to get to know you and your goals and recommend curriculum to achieve those goals. It’s also a chance to make sure it’s a good fit. If for any reason you’re not satisfied, we’ll match you with additional teachers for free or refund the assessment fee. ### **What will I learn?** Your lessons will be guided by your goals. You'll learn exactly what you need and nothing you don't. For example, if your goal is to sing Tom Petty songs around a campfire, your teacher will skip note reading and theory and go straight for the three chords you need to play any Petty tune. If you want your child to learn how to be a well rounded musical human with all the accompanying developmental benefits, your teacher will use a curriculum like Faber or Alfred's and take them through theory, technique and note reading, as well as playing fun songs they'll enjoy. If you're not sure what your goals are yet, or even what instrument to choose - no problem! We'll match you with a teacher of multiple instruments who can take you through different concepts and possibilities, always focusing on music you like. ### **How much does Musicologie cost?** Lessons and programs range in cost and vary by location. [Contact us to learn more!](https://app.musicologie.com/get-started?location=chattanooga) ### **What's the Perfect Match Promise?** Our Perfect Match Promise is our guarantee to you that you'll love your Musicologie teacher, or we'll match you with a new one for free, or refund your first month of lessons. It means there's no risk to sign up for your first lesson. ![Accelerated Piano Lab student playing piano while their teacher smiles]() ## Why Choose Lessons at Musicologie? - Certified Music Teachers - Perfect Match Promise™ - All ages, abilities, and instruments - Private lessons and group classes - Concerts and events - Easy and flexible rescheduling ```json {"@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@id":"https://musicologie.com/#website","@type":"WebSite","description":"Simply Delightful music lessons & classes for all ages.
